Chakras

Pioneering a new approach to holistic treatments.

Chakras can be described as being like ‘power stations’ – they create and maintain energy. Learning how to work with your charkas can both balance and energize your mind, body and spirit and can also be used to heal physical issues. It is thought that each of the seven charkas is responsible for different stages of development for spiritual and psychological development.

The Root, the Sacral and the Solar Plexus charkas look after survival, self awareness and inner-stability and well being respectively. The Heart chakra focuses on our personal reality. The Throat, the Brow and the Crown charkas focus on communication, insight and wholeness. Each chakra has a colour that it resonates with and is also responsible for a part of the body. Working on your charkas will usually involve some kind of relaxation, meditation or breathing exercises and work can be focused on a particular chakra to address a specific problem.

To put this into practical terms, when we have an idea (which will usually originate from our Higher Self which is discussed in more detail in the website under the Self Development section), this connects to our Crown chakra. We then bring this idea down to the Brow chakra where we begin to form the idea and think about it, creating a mental picture of how it will work or what it will be. We move this energy to the Throat chakra and be begin to speak about our idea and engage our will. By doing so, we test our ideas out on others and consider their feedback. From this point, we move the energy down to the Heart chakra where we consider how we feel about the idea. We then move this on to the Sacral chakra and this is where we consider the resources that we need to make the idea work, such as money, qualifications. We finally move this idea down to our base or Root chakra where we ‘ground’ the idea – in other words, we actually make it happen in the physical world.

To follow is a more detailed look at each chakra, where it is located, what it’s function is, it’s related colour and body parts. It will also state what this will promote when balanced, when there is an imbalance, the impact this can have on our lives and how to use affirmations to improve each chakra.
